You've inspired me to take a picture. Maybe this should be the first challenge on the other blog? Pictures of frozen doors. I'm sure we are not the only ones that have frozen doors.
3 houses ago I had frost on the inside of the door and snow drifting in through a crack between the door and the frame. Oh the memories. Your picture reminds me of my neighbor's place who had frostlike stalactites on the outside of his door from the escaping heat.
I like this photo. When I was in Grise Fiord the apartment door pulled inward from the outside (who designed that) and during a huge blizzard I was frozen in for some 12 hours. There was a small balcony off the living room that I considered jumping some 15 feet to the ground below and making my way to the door. I decided if someone needed me badly enough they would have to get me out.
This was actually taken of the outer door in the cold porch. It's not insulated in the front porch so it's ikki!! Especially when I have to let the pooch out first thing in the morning in my bare feet! But thank god I don't have that cold breezing into the main house. Every nail in the outer porch is covered in frost, almost like there is a white fungus growing everywhere, it's all fuzzy looking!
Tina, the first challenge is going to be a fun one, I think I will post it tomorrow. But I will save your idea for a future challenge! :)
I moved to Nunavut 3 years ago with my husband and Alaskan Malamute. Here we started raising our first daughter Ezri and shortly before we left, became pregnant with our second.
As every journey has an end, we found ourselves back south again, dreaming of returning north one day. Please read about my adventures and continue to feel free to send me e-mails.

ikki! Is that the outer door from the cold porch? Or the inner door leading to the cold porch? Must be pretty cold up in CD.

what a beautiful photo! (and kind of painful, bare hand on cold surface...)
