As you already know, I'm moving down south and therefore will soon no longer be "Jen of Nunavut", but Jen of MASSIVE city in southern Canada. I will want to continue writing and showcasing my photography. I figure I'm going to (try to) start a business when I get back south and I might as well start up a full fledged website that will allow me to blog and dabble in a photography business. So the question is "what in H.E. double hockey stick do I call it"?
I WANT your opinion. You can either vote on the side or leave me a comment. OR both, any suggestions are welcome.
Let's see, where was I?

What about photographybyjen?
I just voted for Jen of Photography but I like Lindsay's suggestion alot. I like Jennifermira alot too but it won't be as easy to remember for people who don't know you.
I like Jen of Photography. Nice to know you will still blog. Your work is amazing. Paul
Hi Jen!
Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed your blog the past 2ish years. My hubby does the same thing as yours, your blog was one of the main reasons I decided to go along with moving North of 60. We "only" live in Yellowknife but I received a lot of great information through your blog that doesn't exist elsewhere on the internet or in any info package provided by their employer.
Thanks SO much & best wishes to you & your family at your next posting!
:-)
JME Photo? :p
jenofphotography is pretty witty, I had to laugh. but its hard to parse when when you see it written. Something to think about if you're running ads; the brand recognition is going to be harder to capture. It's also a bit of an inside joke, which is going to leave some people saying "huh?"
Also, if you end up picking "jennifire", I recommend you also buy up "jenifire" (one 'n').
Shirley has an interesting suggestion. I showed her your list and she favors the ones that have "photo" or "photography" in the title. (i.e., DON'T go for uber-creative names).
This is because an uber-obvious names is exactly the kind of thing that will boost your search engine ranking---search engines love words they can recognize. The better/higher the rankings, the more hits, the more conversions, the money...
Think of it as brand recognition for search engines. However, one might argue that what stands out more to a search engine is the opposite of what would stand out to a person, and vice versa.
Personally, I'd go for human brand-recognition, and let favorable search rankings follow from that.
I would go with Jen's Photos. Or BFKAJON. :)
How about "JON" aka Jen of Nunavut, keeps your Nunavut connection with simple branding.
Wow! Sorry to hear you are going. I must say I've enjoyed your blog immensely. Your photography and humour really make your blog stand apart. I too have a massive move on this summer which will keep me busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest but I hope to follow your new blog when the opportunity comes. Best of luck!
Jennifoto or Jenniphoto
Hi, mom Eich here, can never remember my password.
"Jen of Nunavut and beyond"
You are your experiences. Your past is the platform that alows you to spring forward.
Love you guys, mom/deb
Jen Nooooooooooo! You can't leave Nunavut! lol
I'm Canadian and have traveled from New Brunswick to British Columbia but had NO idea how beautiful it was up there till I happened upon your blog and have just been loving the great pictures and stories. I'm really going to miss that aspect of your blog.
I have to say the name of your blog is so easy for me to remember I don't have to be home to get there. I can do a search wherever I find myself and get to read it, other blogs whose names are more convoluted or complicated I have to find them in my favourites column in order to read them.
Why not just replace the word Nunavut with the name of the new place you are moving to? "Jen of ******* " Your blog is about a lot more than just photography it's very autobiographical and I'd think using the word photography in it would be somewhat limiting unless you were going to make it a blog specifically on this issue.
Just my two cents from a long time reader and fan.
All the best,
Gaelen
p.s. good luck with the move.
