Indigo I agree with you!!! Tallinn (though I love him dearly and I wouldn't give him up for the world) is a pain in my bum lol!! The breed is very difficult too! You guys wouldn't be able to do as much traveling either!
I'm gonna have to second the warnings of Jen...while mine isn't a pure Malamute, she can be a royal pain in society's ass when she hasn't been exercised (daily, if not multiple times daily) and given the 23 hours of attention (daily) that she longs for. I still wouldn't give her up for the world! $75 is a different story however...
Actually, I think any large breed can be a pain if not exercised properly or attended to enough. I would however, rather put up with that than a dog who needs a coat and booties to go outside because he/she can't hack temperatures below +10. Tallinn is a beauty!
Every time I see pictures of Tallinn I miss our Kaylee. She's pure Malamute, but as long as you don't have cheese in your hand or steak or fish or other meat nearby, she's an angel... but walking her is like molasses... she's a pretty low key puppy though... and good as gold... she does like to beg for snacks though :D
I moved to Nunavut 3 years ago with my husband and Alaskan Malamute. Here we started raising our first daughter Ezri and shortly before we left, became pregnant with our second.
As every journey has an end, we found ourselves back south again, dreaming of returning north one day. Please read about my adventures and continue to feel free to send me e-mails.
