My Amauti

Here is a better look at my amauti. Right now I'm trying to fiddle with making my own ties (the one that was made for me that goes around my waste is a tiny bit too small). I think it would be fun to experiment with adding some kind of personal touch.

Kara had mentioned that her cats were very interested in her seal skin pelts and here you can see Tallinn is investigating my seal skin Kamiks. He wasn't supposed to be in the photo, but I swear every time someone picks up a camera he some how ends up in the shot like a photo HO! The one positive thing about the kamiks needing to be stored in the freezer (they're not tanned) is that they are out of reach of certain wandering puppies and kitties.

That's beautiful. I wish I had one when the boys were small!

I must ask, cause I've always been curious...

Is it comfortable?

Oooohhh!!! That is so pretty! Love your tail. I have to store my amouti in a closet where the cats can't get at it. They love the fox trim.

I love your amauti! And I really like that you got a white one with a tail -- very traditional. I have one too! Do you step into yours or pull it over your head?

The fur trim looks disturbingly like Tallinn. Interesting.

I love the white! It looks so fresh!

I also agree that the trim looks a lot like Tallinn. That was the first thing I thought when I saw it. Lol.

Hey Desiree, Yep they are comfortable. However the babe is only 2 months right now, so I expect the old she gets the less comfortable it will get lol. It also pulls a little at the neck, you might see some woman holding the coat at the neck as they walk.

In Iqaluit, I pull mine over my head, it's a little tight around the hips so I can't manage get into it by the step in method. I get a little "lost" sometimes when I pull it over my head, it's a little claustrophobic lol.
