That really puts a bee in my bonnet!!! My weather bonnet!!

My sister in law is down south swimming in her pool because it's "Oh, so hot", roughly 35 degrees. Ok, I get that I'm living in the arctic, BUT it's 9 degrees in Iqaluit!!!! So why am I getting snowed on? Hello, it's JUNE!! The forecast for me for the next few days, maybe if I am a really really good person, it will get up to a whole whopping 4 degrees on Sunday like it says. Honestly it doesn't matter how cold it is, I would just like a little sunshine. It really bugs me that everything I watch on TV is about summer drinks, summer fashion, summer BBQs, summer blah blah blah. DID I MENTION MY SISTER IS SWIMMING IN THE POOL, as we speak! I think I forgot what it feels like to be outside at room temperature. It's just really going to mess me up when we head down south at the end of July. DID I MENTION THAT IT IS SNOWING RIGHT NOW?

I think this is the main reason why i only start to pay attention to Southern forecasts a few days before I'm due to travel. I get a big laugh when I visit my parents over Christmas and the mercury dips below about -20C,-25C......the tables are turned.

If it any consolation I've seen snow in every month now except July. But my second year in Broughton I was told by a friend they actually did get enough snow that July that you could make a shoe impression in the ground.....but it was only like that for like 3 days and then it melted.

The year after I returned to Sweden, we had 10 cm of slush on June 2nd... I was NOT impressed. After 9 years in Inuvik and not one single month in all that time without at least a dusting of snow, I thought I'd paid my dues for all eternity.
I feel for you! May WWU:s advice is the best...

35 ain't all its cracked up to be Jen. You gotta blast you central air therefore making your hydro bill blast up with it. you have to blast up the a/c in the car making your gas chug away, did you hear gas is a $1.36 a litre!!! so at least you are not sweating and gas chugging so feel happy for that! I also have no summer clothes because my butt expanded too much durning the winter so I am confined to jeans in this horrible muggy weather. Did I mention I don't own a pool? lol so I'm mad about that one as well!! hehehe

I sometimes miss tolerable Thunder Bay summers. 20-25 with no humidity, and i nice breeze from the lake! dammit!

ok, I am ok now. It's not snowing anymore. I guess I can't complain too much because I'll be floating in Jen's pool come August! The count down is on!

Jen,

We just fired up our new central air for the first time... not so much for the heat, but the humidity. We were absolutely miserable. It's been stuck at about 90%. You can't get a good night's sleep in that.

The air feels like a moist towlette that Tallinn drooled on. Muggy as Effingham. Warm, but not enjoyable.

Better than snow though. Ha ha :P

Just to make you feel better.... We are now having severe thunderstorms and a tornado watch at the moment. Yay!
